Life is so fast-paced these days, success and happiness can quickly turn into failure and pain. That’s life!
Nevertheless, at times, when everything goes wrong, I can forget the fundamentals and let myself go to despair, mourning and lamentation. I guess it’s already happened to you too.
Today, I will arm you with the five things I do, and that you must do, to get better when everything is going wrong in your life.
Putting these five tips into practice makes it possible to put them into perspective and take the time to remain positive and continue to move in the right direction despite life’s bad blows.
#1. THINK ABOUT YOUR GOALS
Stress, anxiety and panic are completely natural feelings. However, if you don’t know how to turn them to your advantage, you will suffer these feelings and you won’t get any better.
You will have to think calmly about your goals and long-term objectives in order to have a broader picture of what you want to achieve.
Think about your objectives in life!
By doing this, there is a good chance that you will realize that everything is going badly today but that overall you are on the right track to achieve your objectives.
This will make it easier for you not to fall into despair and lamentation. You will let the storm pass before resuming your forward march towards achieving your objectives.
#2. IT’S TIME TO TAKE A BREAK
Once you have realised what your objectives are in life, you must understand when things are going wrong time comes to a grinding halt, so it seems. Everything slows down and you feel as if that truly is the end of the world and things will never get better for you, this follows with negative feelings then overwhelm you and you enter a negative spiral of hell. It’s very simple, you have the impression that everything is going badly and that you won’t be able to get out of it because you don’t see any way out of your problems.
Take some time off!
Taking a break will be beneficial to you as it will help you to regain your composure. However, we always think better when we are calm with a cool head. Once you have returned from your break, you will find the right path, the one that will allow you to take action to solve your problems.
#3. EVERYTHING IN LIFE IS TEMPORARY
When you hit the rock bottom you tend to lose touch with reality. This is a fact that is very often confirmed. By taking a step back, you will come to your senses and remember in the following fundamental truth:
Everything in life is temporary, including life itself!
Bad things just as well as good things are temporary in life. After the storm, there is always the sun. The only challenge will be to continue to remain optimistic until things turn back to your advantage.
To do this, you must believe in yourself and be resilient. It is an essential quality in life for anyone who wants to do exceptional things.
#4. BE POSITIVE & FOCUS ON SOLUTIONS
Everything’s going wrong. You are in the worst situation you could have imagined. You’re panicking. This is dramatic because you will then lose your ability to think. The same ability that will get you out of this bad situation if you think positively.
By staying positive you stay focused on solving your problems.
By staying positive, you will keep your thinking focused on potential solutions to your problems. It’s the best way out of this. Once all potential solutions have been evaluated, you will need to take action to get out of this bad situation you’re in.
#5. ACCEPTANCE & FINDING A WAY OUT
Think about it, let’s assume you’re violently sick to the point that you are forced to go see a physician, imagine telling him that there is nothing wrong with you meanwhile expecting treatment for your sickness.
On the other hand I understand no one likes to admit to themselves that they have failed or made a mistake and that they are in a very bad situation. However, not accepting reality will only slow you down and waste valuable time that you could have used to find solutions.
The sooner you accept your situation, the sooner you will find a way to get out of it.
Once the acceptance stage is over, your whole mind will be focused on finding solutions. You will, therefore, get closer to solving your problems. The rest will be a matter of patience and perseverance.
Everyone has experienced times when everything in life goes wrong. When this happens, we tend to feel alone in the world and wonder why it happens to us. It is useless to waste time with this type of existential questioning that will only delay you in order to get out of this bad time.
Accept your situation, then switch to positive thinking mode to be fully focused on potential solutions to your problems. If it takes time, remember that everything in life is temporary and that your current bad experience does not in any way affect the pursuit of your middle and long-term goals.
